This is pretty much how I feel about FaceBook right now

I've cut way down on quoting and referencing Hugh MacLeod over the past year, partly because I want to get my internet wisdom from as many sources as possible. But the man still has a remarkable amount of clout with his comics and his bloggishness, and it's really heartening to me to see him echo my own thoughts regarding something I actually kind of care about.

There's a lot to FaceBook that seems really cool, really useful, and I'd like to see it expand in a direction that involves more flow of actual information, more like LiveJournal. And it would be really cool if the company would be a little more decisive about whether or not they are actually breaching their customer's privacy rights, but I'm sure that'll work itself out eventually. But the part about FaceBook that has been slowly pissing me off more and more and really actually driven me away from it is that I cannot opt out of those stupid god-forsaken invites to add applications I do not want.
