I had a completely different piece of artwork in mind when I first started working on my wedding invitations. It's been a little bit of a struggle working with my fiancee, trying to convince her of the wisdom of me doing our own invitations, partly because she has other considerations in mind (including timeliness of completion and providing an activity for our friends to participate in). The result is that this has been as much a practice in customer service as any other design project. My payment is the honor of making my own invitations. And I found that the skills I've learned while working for the Indy, including a certain detachment from the job, have served me quite well. We're verging on a finished product that I think is going to both look elegant and satisfy all of our considerations.

Anyway, here's the current proof of the graphic we intend to use:



My roommate's brother asked if he could use it as a tatoo. I don't see why not. Especially if you duplicated it in reverse on either side of your spine, it might look pretty damn cool. I hereby give anyone permission to use this graphic for such a purpose, just realize that it is also my wedding invitation, and please consider giving me a tip for the work (a coffee, a nice wedding gift, or a sizeable amount of cash -- follow your consience).

This was my most recent commissioned piece of work:



I still have a couple details to tweak on it, and then I will move on to my next piece.

I am doing one commission at a time. When the next piece is done, I will ship it and post a sample here. And then I will call NEXT!

There will be a form below that. The first person to fill it out will get the next commission. I can take checks or credit card. I will not hand deliver artwork, ever. Shipping will be done through UPS unless you'd rather have FedEx.

This should be fun!
