Nothing Harmless
(03 Mar 2008)

I have finally finished scripting Nothing Harmless!

The sequel to the Dragon & the Radical is on its way.

All I have to do now is create the website for it, and get a couple of friends to read the script to make sure they can understand it.

More soon!

Oh, It's a Doll
(26 Feb 2008)

Yet another illustration for "The Life of Ink." That's two in one week, which is more than I'm shooting for. A good way to start off. Again, this one is a bit more rough that I'd hoped, or not as rough as it should be, but it captures the feel for the scene almost perfectly.

I'm beginning to think that I should make a special site for these illustrations, with a quick explanation for what their for and an ETA countdown to publication. Even though I'm not releasing them in any sort of order, it might be a nice service for those interested in the project.

The story is a sort of prequel to HFR, though it can't really fit well into the continuity for reasons that will be obvious once you read it. But it predates the comic by three years and involves two of the main characters we've been seeing lately, Jenifer and Ink.

And then we came upon a stream
(25 Feb 2008)

This is an illustration for a short story I wrote in 1997. I've been working on this project since then. Now that I feel like my skills have reach an acceptable consistency, I've created a schedule for myself to complete one of these illustrations a week. Most of them are penciled out already, so it should work out pretty well.

About half of them will be in color. The other half will be in black and white.

I have some problems with this one, but probably not enough to do it over again. But, unlike my comic, redos are totally legitimate in this project. I want it to look good.

Art Shows and Posters!
(26 Jan 2008)

Starting probably in February, I'm going to run a series of art shows in my home town of Bellingham. My goal is to have my art hanging somewhere in town 365 consecutive days and to hit each of the neighborhoods. I'm hitting up cafes and restaurants as well as a couple of galleries. So far I have nothing but positive results, so this just might work.

I will take pictures of these shows and post them here, but what this really means to my online fans is that I will finally have a selection of gallery grade prints for sale. $10 for 8.5" by 11" and $20 for 16" by 24", and a book of postcards for some price I haven't decided yet.

You can see a preview of what I'm talking about here:

And here:

I will probably also put up my last three years of comics available for pints as well.

Expect things in February! (oh my god that's soon)
