Bad Script in the old archives
(30 Mar 2009)
A friend just now pointed out that the script that runs the old archives of Harmless Free Radicals (the stuff I did over eight years ago) is not working. For some really weird reason, you get to see something from last summer and that's it.
I'm sincerely sorry that I did not notice this sooner. I should have known about a month ago, when I switched from PHP 4.0 to PHP 5.0. 5.0 has better security and my old script was lazily written. I just have to put a snippit of code above each page.
I should have time to fix it later today.

Official Press Release
(21 Jan 2009)
Fenmere, the Worm showcases his art:
Gretch Meuller's Combat Guide to Making Coffee a play in comic form Act 1, Scene 1
the Black Drop Coffee House Bellingham, Washington Feb 1 - Feb. 28
Jonathon Sodt, otherwise known as Fenmere, the Worm, showcases his art February at the Black Drop Coffeehouse. The art show will feature selected works from Harmless Free Radicals, Sodt's award winning comic that was a fixture in the Whatcom Independent newspaper. Art from new projects will also find a place in the Black Drop show, and may include sketches from comics that are still in development. This is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of what this local artist has planned next, especially since it marks the launch of Fenmere's new graphic novel, Gretch Meuller's Combat Guide to Making Coffee.
Sodt's style typifies the Bellingham spirit. His characters are instantly relatable, the lovingly rendered expressions conveying the range of human emotion in a simple organic style. Subdued excitement permeates the art, the touch of someone delighted by the process of creating. Come take a piece of this local color home with you in the month of February. Books chronicling Harmless Free Radicals will be available at the Black Drop counter, as well as postcards and prints.
Come by the Black Drop and grab a print to go with your latte! If you miss this one, don't worry; Fenmere hopes to have his art on display at a variety of popular locations around town in months to come.

About Harmless Free Radicals
Harmless Free Radicals began as an online comic, or webcomic, on July 31, 2000. Bellingham was first introduced to the comic when Sodt began publishing and distributing it on quarter page handbills around town in 2001. In 2005, the comic was picked up by the Whatcom Independent as their flagship feature strip, where it won first place in the Weekly Feature Comics division two years in a row at the Washington Press Association Awards. Since the closure of the Indy, Sodt has returned the comic to its serial origins, continuing online and telling the adventures of a group of friends who started a band on the basis that they came up with a good name. Sodt hopes to continue sharing his comic with Bellingham through a series of art shows, beginning with February at the Black Drop. He will also continue to collect the comics in books, which are currently available at Village Books or from his website, http://www.harmlessfreeradicals.com.

Grass Dog Studio services notice
(05 Jan 2009)
Grass Dog Studio is currently too diversified in the number of services that it can offer. As one artist, it is difficult for me to constantly shift between types of projects, and my service to all of my clients is suffering as a result.
As the bulk my work is currently focused on illustration, that is the service I will be retaining. I will do my best to close all of my web design and layout accounts as gracefully as possible within the next month, and I will happily refer my clients to top notch artists and designers that can offer those services.
I will still offer a limited degree of my layout expertise and labor when working on band posters, business cards and/or ads as a finishing step to any illustration project. But I will no longer be taking on any work that is primarily layout in nature, and I will not offer my web design or coding skills either. It is my goal to remain savvy in these areas, so that I may offer the services in the future, but my main focus must now be in illustration.
Thank you for hiring my pen!
